Guess what? Art is good for you!

Science says so.  Researchers have found that “works of art can give as much joy as being head over heels in love...” and that “...art induces a feel good sensation direct to the brain.”  Of course, I’ve known this fact since I fell in love with Edward Hopper’s Room by the Sea (see above).  The muted colors, sunshine and shadows and familiar geometric shapes make me want to jump right in for a swim and then cuddle up for a nap on that grandma sofa.  If that doesn’t stir up lovely feelings of love....

Christy mentioned in a previous post how we bee good gals really enjoy it when someone remarks that our booth makes them feel good or that our art makes them happy.  Now we have scientific proof that their endorphins are kicking in.  We should give out chocolate and see what happens.

In our circle we know that art is good for you...especially affordable art.  If your home is happy, then those who dwell within will be happier, too.  Buy some art that you like or make some art that you like, and then hang it in your home.  You’ll be happier for it.

I’ll be singing Tom Waits Nighthawks at the Diner the rest of the day,
Becky
